DBGT accommodates longest container vessel at V.O.C. Port.


               On 13.05.2022 DBGT handled MV. MSC PETRA with LOA 299.95m the lengthiest container vessel ever handled. With strenuous efforts to outreach the highs of V. O. Chidambaranar Port Authority and Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal Pvt. Ltd. on every level of port and terminal operations. DBGT is proud to accommodate MV. MSC PETRA with LOA 299.95m & Arrival Draught of 10.0m on May13, 2022, the lengthiest container vessel ever called in the history V.O. Chidambaranar Port.   The ADHOC call is operated by MSC Agency (India) Pvt. Ltd. DBGT has reached the milestone by surpassing the earlier record of accommodating 277m container vessel and hereby extending its commitment to trade with continuous efforts to improve the existing infrastructure and its reliability.  MV. MSC PETRA with load capacity of about 6627 TEU’s arrived from Reunion under “Extra Vessels Service”, is the largest container carrier ever called V.O.C. Port – Tuticorin. The vessel berthed at DBGT @ 13.05.2022 @ 08.15 Hrs, has total throughput of 1535crane moves at Tuticorin and bound to Singapore as next port.    DBGT is continuously striving to achieve improvement on overall Terminal performance to serve the trade with more values surpassing the previously set performance benchmarks.  DBGTManagement takes pride in this achievement which stands as a testimony for the combined efforts of Tuticorin Port along with Tuticorin trade fraternity.   The Management applauded the efforts of the DBGT Team on this remarkable achievement and stated that we shall shall strive hard and accomplish improved performance records in the future , Tuticorin  -  voc  port  press  release ,  13//5/2022

V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority clinches both Volleyball and  Beach Volleyball titles in the All India Major Ports Tournament.

V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, emerged as champions of All India Major Ports Tournament in both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, organised by Paradip Port Authority & Major Ports Sports Control Board, at Paradip, from 12.04.2022 to 15.04.2022  , The Players, Coaches and Managers of both the Volleyball and Beach Volleyball teams met Shri T.K. Ramachandran, IAS, Chairman, VOC Port Authority, on 20.04.2022, at the Port’s Administrative Office and handed over the Winner trophies in the presence of Shri Bimal Kumar Jha, Deputy Chairman, Shri Suresh Babu, President, VOC Port Sports Council & Chief Mechanical Engineer and other Heads of Departments.  Shri T.K.
